はじめまして。わたしはデービッドです。よろしくおねがいします。アメリカじんです。いまニューヨークからきました。でもわたしのホムタウンはフィラデルフィヤです。コロンビアのだいがくいんせいです。わたしにかいてください!

My interest in Japan goes way back. I was very interested in samurai and ninjas when I was a child. As I grew my interest never waned and I spent many years trying to figure out a way to get there. I was lucky enough to be accepted into the JET program after completing my undergraduate degree. I was not disappointed. In fact, my interest in Japan increased to the point where I decided to study it at the graduate level.

Unfortunately, I did not study while I was there. I spent all my time traveling and reveling in the culture as opposed to learning how to communicate correctly. The Japanese are wonderful hosts and were very accepting of my minimal Japanese skills. Now, however, I find myself wishing I had spent more time with the books (especially kanji).

Be that as it may, I'm enjoying my Japanese classes and looking forward to being able to understand the language of the culture I love.
